Syllabus Template
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and Academic Affairs maintain a syllabus template with all the required information as listed in the TCNJ Syllabus Policy and that contains accessible formatting. Syllabi built with accessible formatting include nested headings, descriptive link text, left-aligned text, and other formatting choices that make it usable for screen reader users and other assistive technologies.

Faculty using the template or creating their own syllabus document can refer to CETL’s video series, Creating an Accessible Syllabus. This video series reviews five quick tips for making a syllabus accessible: using headings, changing layout tables, writing descriptive link text, formatting text, and creating lists. These tips are easy to implement and can significantly enhance the accessibility of your syllabus. Each part of the following video series shows how to accomplish the quick tips in both Microsoft Word and Google Docs.
