CETL Good Reads, AY25-26

Front cover of the book, "Professors At Play Playbook."

The CETL Good Reads Initiative is a community book read program for TCNJ faculty and staff designed to stimulate healthy campus dialogue. This year’s book is Professors At Play Playbook, edited by Lisa Forbes and David Thomas.

About the book (from the publisher):

The Professors at Play PlayBook[…] collects techniques showcasing a wide range of playful approaches to learning in a higher education setting, all submitted by playful educators from across the globe.

Interested in integrating play into your curriculum? The PlayBook is a perfect place to start. All of the techniques covered in the book provide examples of real-world play used in classrooms by professors in a wide range of disciplines. Whether you borrow a technique directly or simply find inspiration in what others do, the PlayBook helps you find your permission to play.

The PlayBook provides a valuable resource for faculty seeking playful pedagogical approaches. Whether new to the idea of playful teaching or a seasoned pro, the PlayBook is a valuable and actionable resource containing a variety of techniques collected across a wide range of disciplines.

Books will be distributed in December 2025, with a session for discussion and reflection in February. There is no cost to you—books are provided to anyone interested in participating in the Good Reads program. Sign up and indicate your preferred format (digital or print).

Participants who request a print version will be notified by email when their copy is ready for pickup in Roscoe West G01, and a pickup schedule will be provided.
