TidyUp for Canvas
TidyUP is a Canvas tool that allows faculty to quickly identify and bulk-delete unused files and duplicate content to reduce course clutter and simplify digital accessibility efforts.
Refer to Cidi Lab’s “Getting Started with TidyUp” video for more information, or schedule a one-on-one information session with CETL.
What can TidyUp do?
With TidyUp, course instructors can:
- Identify used and unused files
- Locate where you are using files
- Identify duplicate files
- Delete unused files
- Edit a file’s name and published status
- View file information and filter by file type or status
- Download content to a ZIP file
Why is it helpful?
A decluttered Canvas course improves:
- Student navigation: Students take between four and five classes, each with a different Canvas organization. By removing unused content, students can more easily locate course content.
- Compliance with Title II accessibility laws: Like all public institutions. TCNJ must comply with federal Title II regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Eliminating unused course content speeds up making all content accessible.
- Canvas storage: TidyUp helps maximize our use of Canvas storage space.
